Boost for shoppers and drivers at petrol station -- all the latest Mansfield plans
Shoppers and drivers who use Morrisons’ petrol station in Mansfield Woodhouse could soon notice some welcome improvements.
For the retail giant plans to install four jet wash bays, three valeting bays and a plant room at the station, which is off Welbeck Road and close to the Morrisons superstore on High Street.
It forms one of several planning applications received and validated in recent days by Mansfield District Council.
The work would also include enhancements to the forecourt, including the planting of four new trees and 45 square metres of hedging.

However, an original scheme, given permission in 2024, for EV (electric vehicle) chargers and a retail extension to the existing sales building will not now go ahead.
The application has been submitted by the Motor Fuel Group, the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, with more than 1,200 sites spread across the country.
It is supported by the Cardiff-based planning and regeneration company, Carney Sweeney, which stresses that the proposed work would not have an adverse impact on the Mansfield Woodhouse Conservation Area, within which Morrisons sits.
"The area would be well-lit and would not raise any concerns regarding anti-social behaviour or the surrounding land uses,” says planner Tia Fishlock in a letter to the council.

"The proposed jet washes have been carefully designed to positively integrate with the existing site operation.”
The council’s planning officers are currently considering the scheme and have set a deadline date of Tuesday, December 15 for a decision or recommendation.
