Discover more about creepy crawlies with the Kimberley Bug Trail

The Kimberley Bug Trail is back for people to explore just some of the insects and bugs you might find in the area, while visiting some of the town’s high street independent businesses.

Seven Kimberley businesses will be taking part, each hosting a trail stop with their own unique bug.

Trail-goers can search for the bug at each stop, discover interesting facts, and collect their stamp.

Once all seven stamps have been collected on a trail map, explorers can then choose from a selection of custom limited-edition prizes from Coasteroo.

Adventurers can begin their journey by collecting a trail map from Kimberley Library, or any of the participating businesses.

Coun Milan Radulovic (Brox All), Broxtowe Council leader and portfolio holder for economic development and asset management, said: “Kimberley has some incredible independent businesses spanning the length of its high street.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to explore some of them and discover something new.

“It’s also a fun and interactive way to learn about some of the creatures that play an essential part in our ecosystems.”

The Kimberley Bug Trail has been created in partnership with Kimberley Town Council.

This project has received £2,669 from East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) from funding provided by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has provided £25.17m of funding for local investment across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in the last year.

This funding, distributed by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), aims to boost pride in place and increase life chances in the region.

The investment will focus on supporting communities and businesses, as well as developing skills for individuals.

Broxtowe Council was allocated a total of £1,056,720 in 2025-26.

Activity funded includes local business and skills support and a set of community projects.
