Mansfield Town strike nominated for Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month for August, along with Reading, Bromley and Stockport
Nathan Moriah-Welsh’s goal against Luton Town has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month Award for August.
The Mansfield Town wide man enjoyed a sizzling performance against the Hatters last month as Stags dominated in a 5-2 win at home.

It was a statement result for Nigel Clough’s side and Moriah-Welsh put in a display to remember with two goals and an assist.
Both of his goals were superb finishes but his second really raised the roof of the One Call Stadium. After scoring the opener in the 17th minute, Moriah-Welsh fired home his second just before the half-hour mark. It was a thunderous effort from just inside the box that left Josh Keeley in the Luton net with no chance.
The shot rifled into the back of the net for Stags’ 2-0 lead, which set the tone for a free-scoring afternoon in Mansfield.
The 24-year-old’s strike was voted Mansfield Town’s Goal of the Month by fans and it’s now up for nomination for the League One award.
Also in contention for August’s honour are Reading’s Jack Marriott, Stockport County’s Mikael Mandron and former Stags striker Victor Adeboyejo, who has three goals in five games for new club Bromley.
Marriott’s goal was part of his hat-trick performance against Luton. All three came in the first half and his nominated effort was a long-range strike after a solo run down the pitch.
Mandron’s goal came during Stockport’s 5-1 Wycombe drubbing. After a lovely stream of one-touch passing to create the chance, Mandron calmly stroked the ball home to round off the afternoon.
Adeboyejo scored his second goal for Bromley in a 1-1 draw with Cambridge. After going 1-0 down, the former Stags man fired home a neat equaliser inside the box, despite a sea of opposition shirts in his way.
