Departed Mansfield Town striker Victor Adeboyejo 'looking forward to challenge' with League One rivals

The 28-year-old left the One Call Stadium at the end of the 2025/26 season as Stags confirmed their retained and released players list. Dom Dwyer and Aaron Lewis were also released after their contracts were not extended.

Adeboyejo only spent a short time with the Stags after signing a six-month deal during this year’s January transfer window. During his time in amber and blue, the Nigeria international contributed one goal and one assist in League One.

As is usually the case with free agents, Adeboyejo was not short of options following his Stags departure. A recent report claimed Plymouth Argyle were planning a move for the forward, while Scottish Premiership side Dundee United were also showing interest.

Despite these reports, League One new boys Bromley have fought off the competition for Adeboyejo’s signature. The Nigerian became the Ravens’ seventh signing of the window following their emphatic promotion and League Two title win last season.

Bromley will make the step up to League One for the first time in their history and they have wasted no time bolstering their ranks ahead of a huge campaign in England’s third tier.

“The club is pushing in the right direction and it aligns with my ambitions and goals going forward, so I’m really looking forward to the challenge,” Adeboyejo told Ravens in his unveiling interview.

“I know my qualities – I’m strong, powerful and I want to get goals and assists. I had a long time out injured last season so for me it’s about getting a load of games under my belt and getting myself consistently on the scoresheet and helping the team push forward up the league.”

Adeboyejo will return to the One Call Stadium on October 10th when Stags host Bromley for their first meeting of the 2026/27 season.
