New-look Greasley gym poised to open after major investment
Visitors to Greasley Sports & Community Centre will soon be able to enjoy a completely transformed gym as Greasley Parish Council continues its programme of investment in the community facility.
Working in partnership with Pulse Fitness, Greasley Council has commissioned a full refurbishment of the gym, replacing the existing equipment with a modern range of strength, free weights, cardio and functional training equipment.

A key focus of the refurbishment has been accessibility and inclusivity.
Much of the new equipment has been selected with accessible features that will benefit a wide range of users, helping people of different ages, abilities and fitness levels to exercise comfortably and confidently.
Following the closure of Broxtowe Council’s gym in Kimberley, Greasley Council has been working with Broxtowe Council and Liberty Leisure to help ensure vital services remain available in the north of Broxtowe.
The upgraded facilities will enable Liberty Leisure to continue delivering GP referral sessions and low-impact exercise classes from Greasley Sports & Community Centre,
The gym refurbishment is the latest in a series of improvements being made across Greasley Sports & Community Centre and further works are already planned, including improvements to the centre’s committee room, WC and shower facilities.
A council spokesperson said: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing this fantastic new gym to the community.
"Working with Pulse Fitness has allowed us to significantly improve and expand what we can offer our members, creating a modern fitness space with high-quality equipment for all abilities.
"These improvements are about much more than replacing equipment.
"We want Greasley Sports & Community Centre to be a place where people feel welcomed, supported and part of their local community.
"Fitness should be enjoyable and accessible and we believe our friendly, family-focused approach sets us apart.
"We are also pleased to support the continuation of Liberty Leisure’s GP referral scheme and low-impact exercise sessions.
"By working together, we can help ensure these important health and wellbeing services remain available to residents in the north of the
borough.
"This refurbishment is just one part of a wider programme of investment and we appreciate everyone’s patience while these improvements are carried out.
"Not everything can be completed overnight, but over the coming months residents will begin to see a real transformation.”
The new gym will be officially reopened on August 5.
