Festival of Retrofit launched to help Broxtowe residents with energy saving
East Midlands Combined County Authority’s (EMCCA) Festival of Retrofit has now launched.
Many Broxtowe residents have questions and concerns about rising energy bills, improving the energy efficiency of their homes and adapting them to future weather conditions.

The Festival of Retrofit is running a fortnight of events designed to help answer these questions.
Organisations across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are delivering a range of free in-person and online workshops, drop-in sessions, expert talks, demonstrations and open days.
These events are intended to bring retrofit to life and help residents take their next step with confidence.
There is something for everyone, including:
- Homeowners looking to reduce energy bills
- Landlords preparing for future regulations
- Tenants seeking a warmer, more energy-efficient home
- Anyone interested in developing skills or pursuing a career in the growing green economy
Broxtowe Council is supporting the festival with two events:
A two-hour guided tour of EcoTrail-NG9, delivered in partnership with Greening Beeston, will take place on November 1 at 11am.
The event is open to all residents, further information and booking details can be found on the council’s climate change webpages at broxtowe.gov.uk/.../clima.../energy-saving-tips/
Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Information Sessions
Two informal coffee afternoon sessions about social housing decarbonisation are also be held for social housing tenants who are expected to receive loft insulation top-ups and solar panels through Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3, subject to property eligibility.
These invitation-only sessions will take place on November 3.
