Pleasley festival of 'hope' paves the road to recovery with sober celebrations

A charity based in Langwith hosted its inaugural ‘Hope Festival’ at the Pleasley Pit Visitor Centre & Mining Museum – with the event hailed a great success for its recovery resources and sober celebrations.

On Saturday afternoon, the Pleasley Pit Visitor Centre & Mining Museum hosted an alcohol-free event.

The event was facilitated by Rhubarb Farm, Elastic FM and Pleasley Pit Trust.

The event featured live music, recovery resources, food vendors, market stalls, and various activities.

The Hope Festival, an idea conceived by Ben Sofield, the recovery lead at Rhubarb Farm, showcased inspiring stories of individuals who have overcome addiction and embraced a life of sobriety.

The afternoon featured insights from Ben himself and other speakers, who shared their battles with addiction and offered hope to those present.

Visitors had a great time socialising, enjoying live music, and drinking mocktails courtesy of Three Spirit Drinks, a UK-based spirits company that offers delicious non-alcoholic, plant-based, and vegan drinks for the low and no alcohol market.

Ben said: “For this first event – you have all made me so proud and showed the world that Sober is Fun.”
