A girl remains in hospital with serious injuries after a tragedy on the railway tracks in Sutton in which another teenager died.

An 18-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a level crossing close to Sutton Parkway railway station on Monday, with a 17-year-old girl taken to hospital.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said the 17-year-old remained in hospital being treated for serious injuries.
