17. Steve Yemm MP
Stephen Yemm, representing the Labour Party, won the Mansfield seat in the general election held on July 4. He received 16,048 votes, successfully defeating his predecessor, Coun Ben Bradley MP, who garnered 12,563 votes. 18. Warsop Health Hub
On Thursday, July 18, Mansfield and Warsop community partners attended the official opening ceremony at the new site. A midday ceremony marked the official opening of the new Health Hub in Warsop. Warsop Health Hub. The hub, off Carr Lane, has been in the making since 2019. The hub is home to a fitness suite, a 15m x 8m swimming pool, sports hall, changing facilities and conference space. 19. Tributes to Mr Jim Stokes
Floral tributes were left for a “lovely”, 77-year-old “gentleman” who died in a house fire in Mansfield back in August. Firefighters from Mansfield and Ashfield Fire Stations attended the fire on Redland Road, Mansfield, following a call just after 11:20pm on Sunday, August 18, by a member of the public, who saw smoke issuing from the property. 20. Pleasley summer fundraiser
A series of fundraising events took place in Pleasley in July – as the mayor of Mansfield, with the help of a long-standing Mansfield 103.2 broadcaster, participated in a rowing challenge to raise funds for dementia services in the area.
