Police arrest two men after knife attack in Mansfield

Police have arrested two people after a man was left with facial injuries following a knife attack in Mansfield yesterday evening (Sunday, August 9).

Officers were called to Hucklow Court in Mansfield Woodhouse at around 5.45pm yesterday, after they received reports a man had suffered facial injuries after being attacked by two other men with a knife.

Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 34-year-old man at the scene, in connection with the assault.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives believe a video circulating on social media could be linked to the investigation.

Detective Inspector Parminder Dhillon, who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: “Our officers acted incredibly quickly to make two arrests in connection with this incident.

“We are not looking for any other suspects at this time and it is believed to have been an isolated attack.

“Detectives are currently reviewing a video that has been circulating on social media that may be linked to our enquiries.

“A scene was in place at in Hucklow Court earlier this evening while we worked to establish the circumstances, that has since been lifted.

“I’d now appeal for anyone who may have any information that could aid detectives in their investigation to get in touch with us as soon as possible on 101 quoting incident number 670 of 9 August 2020.”
