Police launch murder investigation after man dies after collision in Kirkby: two arrested

Two people have been arrested after a 29 year-old man died after a collision in Southwell Lane, Kirkby.

Nottinghamshire Police were called at around 7.45pm on Saturday following reports two men had suffered serious injuries.

Emergency workers attempted to treat the man at the scene but he sadly died. The other male is stable and in hospital.

Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Parminder Dhillon is leading the investigation. He said: "We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. If you have any information or dashcam footage, please get in touch so we can establish the circumstances around the collision.

"If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident number 792 of 8 August 2020.

"We are asking drivers to stay clear of the area as officers continue their investigations."
