From well known parks to hidden gems, the North Nottinghamshire area is full of endless walking opportunities for dogs and their owners.
This is not an exhaustive list, but it does cover some top spots highly recommended by dog walkers across the Mansfield area.
5. Thieves Wood

6. Vicars Water
This spot offers dog owners the opportunity to explore large ponds and fishing lakes in a gentle stroll through nature. Trails also overlook the iconic headstocks of the former Clipstone Colliery. Accessed via 4 Vicars Ct, Clipstone, Mansfield NG21 9AS. Photo: Google
7. Clumber Park
Clumber Park is perfect for dogs. With an extensive walk available to tackle at your own pace, the National Trust park also runs regular group dog walks and even welcomes dogs into a dog-friendly café, Central Bark. This was highly recommended by dog owners. Photo: Rachel Atkins
8. Oxclose Wood
A popular dog walking woods, Oxclose Wood is situated next to Mansfield Woodhouse Railway station. It is a 3.4-km circular trail and takes the average walker just under an hour to complete. Photo: Google
