WATCH: How have Mansfield Town looked during pre-season? Sheffield United await in Carabao Cup
Mansfield Town’s pre-season preparations are now complete and focus turns to this weekend’s Carabao Cup clash vs Sheffield United.
The last time Stags faced the Blades, they issued a mighty upset in the FA Cup, knocking them out of the competition after an edge-of-your-seat 4-3 win at Bramall Lane.
Mansfield will host the Championship side this time round and fans will get a first proper glimpse at the squad before the League One action kicks off.
In our latest episode of Stags Talk, Stephen and Georgia discuss how Nigel Clough might line-up against Sheffield United and what to expect from the Carabao Cup fixture. They also look ahead to the first League One match of the season in Doncaster Rovers, which will take place a week later.
Behind the scenes, Stags continue to work on signing a new midfielder to complete their summer transfer window. Mansfield have already brought in new attackers David McGoldrick and Michael Smith, and are keen on adding Derby County’s Liam Thompson to the ranks as well.
