Banton, 20, is no stranger to the non-League game, having had a spell in the National League with FC Halifax Town earlier this season.

He had a loan spell with the Reds National League North rivals Bradford Park Avenue last season and was also on loan with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Matlock Town.

Banton goes straight into the Alfreton squad for today’s Vanarama National North home game against FC United of Manchester at the Impact Arena.
