Ryan Sweeney to leave as Mansfield announce retained list
The defender's departure was revealed as the club announced their retained list today.
Chad understands Sweeney's departure was a mutual decision.

Hide AdThe club did have an option in the centre half's contract to extend the stay of the former Stoke City player.
However, the 24-year-old, who also had spells skippering the side, is understood to have wanted a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Sweeney made 122 appearances in the Amber & Blue, scoring seven goals.

Hide AdThe club also had an option to extend striker Andy Cook's contract but elected not to activate it.
Goalkeeper Aidan Stone and striker Nicky Maynard are the other main names to be released while keeper Marek Stech and defender Corey O'Keeffe have been transfer-listed.
