Andi Bell’s side have just one more qualifying match to get through before the First Round Proper gets underway on 25 October.

Mansfield Town are enjoying a strong start to their 2026/27 season and they’ve certainly been making the most of their time at the One Call Stadium.

The Yellows hosted Ossett on Sunday and fought hard for a 2-1 win as they came from behind in the second half.

Mansfield went into the break trailing 1-0 after the visitors were awarded a penalty just after the half hour mark. The second half then saw a spot-kick given the other way and Summer Oliff dispatched the penalty for her fourth goal in three Stags appearances.

Substitute Millie Mellors then snatched the win as a superb solo run ended in a 90th minute goal for the girls in amber and blue.

Recalling a ‘game of two halves’, Bell reflected on her side’s comeback performance.

“It was a typical FA Cup tie, to be honest. They certainly had the better of the first half. We went in at half-time and I said ‘I think we’ve been bullied a little bit’.

“They’re a really aggressive side and I think we bowed down a little bit to that,” she told club media post-match.

“So we spoke about standing up to the challenge and to be fair, I think we absolutely matched them in the second half and we were well on top. It was probably a game of two halves and in the end, we deserved the win.”

The physical side of play is something Bell wants to see Stags work on moving forwards as they tackle both league and Cup opponents.

“It’s a side of our game we’ve got to add in. I said to them at the end, ‘I’ve just watched you do it so now I know you can do it, I’ll be expecting it from the start.’”

The next challenge for Mansfield Town is their top-of-the-table clash against Lincoln in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League.

Stags are currently leading the title charge but Lincoln are only behind on goal difference.
