"Staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities, and people felt confident concerns would be recognised and acted upon. Staffing levels were sufficient to meet people’s needs, staff had completed required training, and systems supported the safe ordering, recording and monitoring of medicines.”

Inspectors highlighted the personalised approach to care.

The report said: “Care was personalised around people’s individual needs, likes and dislikes. People felt involved in decisions about their care and spoke positively about the support they received.

"Staff knew people well, and the evidence indicated people experienced positive outcomes. For example, staff advocated for a person during a hospital admission when they identified that the person’s learning disability was not being fully considered by medical staff.”

Inspectors also said residents appeared “comfortable in their home environment” and spoke warmly about the support they received.

The assessment was carried out on October 13. This service was previously rated as ‘good’.

Gillian Smith, Quality Director at 23 Church Street said: “We are committed to providing great quality care and support, so we are delighted that the CQC have recognised the high standard of care we provide at 23 Church Street. The Good rating awarded to the service is thanks to the wonderful team at Church Street, and their passion and commitment to supporting the people who live there to live happy and fulfilling lives.”
