Deji Oshilaja’s own gave Burton the lead after he was unlucky to turn home Charlie Webster’s cross. But the bigger headline to the goal was the shocking defending which saw Stags fail to clear their lines more than once in the build-up.
Burton double the lead in the 28th minute when Jack Armer headed home at the back post after no-one picked him up.
Michael Smith pulled on back just before the break after getting on the end of Nathan Mariah-Welsh’s superb cross.
Lucas Akins levelled the game on 70 minutes to set up a grandstand finish.

5. Nathan Moriah-Welsh - 7
Generally solid display with his superb cross to tee Smith up for Mansfield’s opener standing out. Also produced a couple important defensive moments to show his growing confidence in that part of his game. Photo: Chris & Jeanette Holloway

6. Stephen McLaughlin - 5
Batlted hard but too many moments where he struggled defensively and should have done better in the build up to the opening goal. Failed to offer anything in an attacking sense. Photo: Chris Holloway

7. Louis Reed - 8
Anchored the midfield excellent as ever. Stood up to the challenge with a tireless work-rate in a first half which saw Burton really ask the questions. Broke attacks up well throghout and ensured Stags maintained a tight grip in the second half. Photo: UGC

8. Liam Thompson - 5
Not for the want of effort but struggled at times to get a grip in midfield with Burton dominating the central area and was subbed early in the second half after picking up a knock. Photo: Chris & Jeanette Holloway
