Alfreton Town sign former Sheffield Wednesday trainee Todd Jordan

Alfreton Town have made it a hat-trick of signings in three days with former Sheffield Wednesday trainee Todd Jordan joining the Reds on a one-year contract.

Jordan (23), was with Vanarama National League side Lincoln City last season having joined the Imps initially on a non-contract basis in March 2013 before penning a permanent deal.

Sheffield-born Todd can play in both the centre of defence or in midfield and was with Shirebrook Town before moving to Lincoln City.

Prior to Shirebrook he had previously played for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Staveley Miners’ Welfare and Parkgate.

He made 46 appearances for Lincoln, scoring once, and during his time at Sincil Bank also had a three-month loan spell with Stalybridge Celtic and ended the 2014/15 season on loan at Buxton before being released by the Imps.

Reds manager Nicky Law is a fan of the versatile Jordan who he has seen at close quarters.

“Todd is another one who is of the right age and location. He played various positions for Lincoln including centre half and in midfield.

“I remember him playing against us and particularly against John Akinde where he did really well.

“I believe he can come and do us a good job and give us some very good versatility” ended Law.

Jordan is the third signing announced this week by Alfreton following on from Ryan Wilson and Sam Berry.
