James Hayes departs Trent Bridge in permanent Gloucestershire move
Seam bowler James Hayes has agreed to sign for Gloucestershire on a permanent basis, bringing his five-year stay at Trent Bridge to an end.
Hayes, 25, first signed for Nottinghamshire on an 18-month basis midway through the 2021 season after impressing on trial, and went on to make his first-team debut in August 2022.

He will move to the Seat Unique Stadium on a two-year deal, having already spent two spells on loan with his new side during the current season.
In all, he has claimed 25 wickets in 17 Metro Bank One Day Cup appearances for Notts Outlaws, including 12 during a run to the last four in this summer’s competition.
In May, Hayes made his First-Class debut for Nottinghamshire during a Rothesay County Championship trip to Leicestershire after coming in as an injury substitute for Brett Hutton.
“I’m so grateful to Nottinghamshire for giving me my opportunity by signing me as a 19-year-old,” said Hayes. “I’ve loved my time here and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
“Leaving Trent Bridge was a really tough decision to make, but I am excited for the next chapter of my career with Gloucestershire.
“I’d like to thank all the Nottinghamshire members and supporters for their backing during the five years I’ve been here, and I wish the club all the best as I head down to Bristol.”
