Upmarket homes set to be built on Mansfield site -- latest planning applications

A plan for ten large, upmarket homes to be built on a plot of land in Mansfield looks set to be given the go-ahead.

The land is a three-acre rectangular-shaped site at Forest Edge, to the eastern side of Oak Tree Lane. Until recently, it contained a sizeable, detached property within a substantial garden.

But that house has now been demolished and the site has been cleared, including the felling of a number of trees, paving the way for this new development.

A planning application for eight five-bedroom homes and two four-bedroom homes, all two-storey detached and with garages, has been submitted to Mansfield District Council by building projects company, Rossi’s Developments Ltd, of Nottingham.

And according to planning documents, the council’s officers have already indicated they will raise no objections, especially as two previous schemes at the site, for 19 houses and six houses, already have consent.

A statement on this latest proposal has been issued by Rossi’s Developments agents, Jackson Design Associates, of the Sherwood Energy Village in Ollerton.

It says the new homes would be “at the higher end of the house-type spectrum, targeted to demand” and offered for sale on the open market.

It points out that the site does not sit within a conservation area, is at low risk of flooding and is close to Oak Tree Lane amenities such as a leisure centre, health centre, pub and superstore.

The site would be accessed via a private road, and the scheme would include street lighting, landscaping and parking spaces.

Other planning applications received by Mansfield Council include these:

13 Debdale Gate, Mansfield Woodhouse – demolition of existing outbuildings and formation of new boundary with single-storey dwelling.

Chestnut House, 10A Mansfield Road, Mansfield Woodhouse – work to six trees covered by preservation order.
