9. Birthplace of Ibiza nightclub
A more niche part of Mansfield's heritage is the town's historical nightlife prowess. In the 1990s the town's Venue 44 became home to a nightclub event that would go on to change the international club scene - Renaissance. It went on to draw crowds of people from across the country to the town, before going worldwide and now has a staple slot in Ibiza's summer nightclub scene every year. Photo: m

10. Coal mining
When operational, the collieries across the Mansfield area were some of the most productive coal mines in the country. Pits like Clipstone and Pleasley remain standing even to this day as a lasting reminder of the proud bond our area has to the coal mining industry. Photo: m
