New tailored education provision coming to Eastwood thanks to funding grant

A brand new education provider is ready to open its doors in Eastwood.

NLTE will provide education to those that have struggled in the traditional school system, and in particular those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, developing life skills and instilling confidence in young people through tailored education.

Founders Sam and Ezrah initially sought advice and support at Broxtowe Council’s first business breakfast, which connected them with experts and guidance on how to start their own business and introducing them to the council’s start-up fund grants.

The pair were subsequently awarded a £750 grant which they used to purchase a laptop and necessary software to begin their venture.

Six months later, they attended another business breakfast, in Kimberley, to learn more about how they could take the next step and move into their own premises.

They were then awarded a second grant of £800 from the Ready for Premises fund which enabled them to pay for the change of use at their new premises and put some money towards their first month’s rent.

NLTE will be hosting an open day on Friday, September 18, from 12,30pm to 3pm to show what they’re offering.

Sam and Ezrah, said: “Our vision was of creating a safe and welcoming space where young people can come, learn and thrive.

"Thanks to the incredible support and funding we have received, we have been able to turn that vision into a reality.

"We are truly grateful for the opportunities and support we have received.

“We would encourage anyone with a vision that may initially feel overwhelming, to reach out and make use of the support and services available - you never know what can be achieved with the right support behind you."

Coun Milan Radulovic (Brox All), council leader, added: “People like Sam and Ezrah are exactly who we wanted to give a leg up to with these grant funds and support events.

"It’s so rewarding to see them go through the steps and achieve their dream of setting up their own business.

“Eastwood is in need of education provision like this and I’m positive that they can make a real difference to the lives of many young people in the local area through this venture.”
