‘School’s out for Christmas’ is the annual toy appeal from ‘School’s out for Summer’ who provide food parcels and help to families in the district who are struggling financially.

They teamed up with Mansfield Building Society to give children Christmas presents in what has been a very difficult year.

The toys were wrapped and delivered to 21 schools in the area, meaning more than 600 families will not go without this year.

Sian Moult from Mansfield Building Society said: “We saw that School’s Out were looking for help with their toy appeal and we thought it would be great to coincide it with our 150th birthday this year.

"We offered to be the donation hub for people to drop off toys and presents and staff volunteered to help wrap them all.

“It means so much to have been able to help with this campaign and help struggling families – it’s something that’s been high on the agenda with the awareness that Marcus Rashford has recently raised.

"We’re absolutely thrilled with the response.”

School’s Out volunteer Phoebe Cox said: “It’s been fantastic, working on this project and being able to deliver all these donations across the district.

"Well done everyone – we would not have been able to do this without The Mansfield Building Society team, especially with their generous donation of £500.

"We have been able to support 650 children in total this December, district wide, which is incredible.”
