The Manor Academy donated an array of personal protective equipment to King’s Mill hospital.

A spokesperson said: “Today we have donated 315 pairs of eye protection, 2000 pairs of disposable gloves, 30 litres of hand sanitizers, 30 antibacterial hand washes and 1000 disposable aprons.

No. 5 Bistro on Madeline Court in Mansfield, like all restaurants were forced to close so manager Linzi Pownall worked alongside the One Stop convenience store next door to provide crates of soft drinks for King’s Mill staff who are often working long shifts without proper breaks.

The bistro also donated perishable goods to the food bank at Mansfield Woodhouse.

Danielle Crowson of Danielle’s Cupcake Heaven has been busy baking.

She said: “I've donated 17 boxes of cupcakes; one to my local shop, two to our local police and seven each to King’s Mill and Nottingham City hospitals.“Each box had a little note from my children to say thank you so much for keeping us safe.”

Debdale Park Sports and Recreational Club decided to offer King’s Mill staff a little something as a way of saying ‘thank you’;

Shelene Bailey explained: “I was sat wondering how the guys that are working on the frontline are coping, not knowing if they or their family will be a casualty of this horrible virus.“So this evening I dropped off, on behalf of the club, a few tipples that the staff can enjoy after their horrendous working day.”

Carrie Austin of Carrie Austin Photography and Henry & George, also donated some disposable face masks to Woodleigh Christian Care Home after manager Sarah Milnes put out an appeal.

Matt Edwards of Colemans Garage, near McArthur Glen donated two boxes of seat covers to King’s Mill’s community care teams to enable them to keep safe during their rounds:

“We’re glad to help. We are staying open as long as we can to ensure key workers can access car repairs to keep them on the road.”
