So here is our weekly guide to give you a few ideas of things to do and places to go in and around the district and across the rest of the county.
There is no doubt that Sutton is the place to be in Ashfield as the town hosts its first spectacular Light Night on Friday and Saturday.
But Mansfield folk have lots of options too – whether it’s enjoying a night out at the Palace Theatre with a colliery band or the sounds of Bon Jovi, taking the kids for an adventurous day at Sherwood Pines or relaxing and exploring at The Hermitage nature reserve.
Please remember to visit the website of each individual venue to check opening times and price details, plus any Covid restrictions that might still be in place.
Have a great weekend!

9. Have fun on the ice
Ten days of half-term fun at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham begins on Friday with public skating sessions that are free for kids aged five and under. The highlight is on Monday afternoon when a taster session gives youngsters the chance to try figure skating, speed skating and even ice hockey, and to ask questions of experts. Photo: Submitted

10. Learn a new craft
Art and craft are said to be fantastic for mental wellbeing, so why not take some time out to learn a new skill with The Makers Club at the Harley Gallery at Welbeck on Saturday afternoon? The session, led by an expert tutor, shows how to cut out lino cutting and basic block prints that can be used on a tote bag. All materials are provided. Photo: Submitted
