Jay Martin is the director and founder of the Mansfield Town Film Festival, which held its inaugural event in 2023. The festival is operated by Sharp Edge Productions Ltd, a trading name associated with Jay Martin. Jay also directed the documentary short "REDt'BLUE" (2022), which explores why the ex-mining town constituency of Mansfield shifted its political allegiance from the Labour Party, which had represented the area for 94 consecutive years, to the Conservative Party during the 2017 snap election.
