5. Hayley Hickman
Richard Hickman writes: "My wife Hayley Hickman AMP has been our hero throughout this pandemic. I'm struggling to find words to do her justice. So much has happened this last year and she's taken everything it has thrown at her and more. Face sores from PPE, long shifts, vaccination shifts, she's managed to look after us all and fit a tough house move into the last year. We couldn't be more proud of her."
6. Wendy Allen
Kelly Marie writes: "This is my mum Wendy Allen and her friend Linda dressing up at Christmas for the patients two years ago like they do every year. They work at the Community Hospital. My mum and her colleagues are all inspirational and even though Covid has been hard, they’ve stuck together and battled through. They are all my NHS heroes because I strongly believe without my mum and colleagues, the Community Hospital just wouldn’t be the same."
7. Zoe Jones and her colleagues
Melissa Hall says: "My NHS heroes are Zoe Jones and her colleagues at King's Mill Hospital working relentlessly on ICU. Thank you so much for all your hard work."
8. Sarah Waplington
Victoria Eccleston writes: "My NHS hero is my beautiful sister/best friend Sarah Waplington. She has worked throughout lockdown on the birthing unit at King's Mill as well as taking care of her wonderful family, making sure they are all safe and happy. She is one in a million and I am so, so proud of all her hard work."
