Letter: Well done Rebecca!

Could I say a big “well done” to Mansfield’s golden girl Rebecca Adlington for her recent performances as a presenter on TV’s “Loose Women” programme. She has taken to her new role like a duck to water (sorry!).

Becky has the knack of combining sincerity with a bubbly personality.

She seems to have put her massive disappointment at the last Olympics behind her and moved on to new challenges.

I know I am jumping the gun (sorry again!) but I can see her teaming up with our other media star Richard Bacon to become the next Richard and Judy!

Yes they are both that good in my opinion. They are a credit to their parents and to our town.

Mansfield Council could do worse than to appoint these two as ambassadors for the district.

Times are hard in these parts right now and we could only benefit by Becky and Richard speaking up for Mansfield.

The probable closure of Thoresby Colliery is another setback we have to deal with.

The County Council doesn’t seem to be doing very much to promote our economic regeneration do they?
