Male aged 39 arrested after crash with motorcyclist between Mansfield and Sutton

Police were scrambled to the scene of the smash – on the A617 Sherwood Road South between Sutton and Mansfield – at just before 4pm yesterday (Sunday).

A motorcyclist was found with serious injuries and taken to Queen’s Medical Centre for treatment.

His current condition is not yet known.

The collision comes on the same day as a serious pileup involving six cars in Kirkby – in which eight people were hurt.

Sherwood Road South was closed between Derby Road and Hamilton Road.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
