Drink-drive RAF man is banned for 36 months

An RAF servicemen who was caught drink driving for the second time in three years has been banned from the road for 36 months.

Police pulled over Martin Williams, 23, of Rainworth Water Road, Rainworth in the early hours of November 7 in his home village.

The aircraftsman was found to have 45 mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs and he admitted a charge of drink driving.

Mitigating, Chris Perry said his actions stretched beyond the court and would affect his career, with promotion and moving to Cyprus for his job now being put on hold. He was fined £400 and told to pay £275 in costs.
