A safe containing around £200 in cash was stolen, along with various other items from the shop – including jewellery and trainers.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody. Another 37-year-old man was arrested earlier in the month and released under investigation.

Inspector Mark Dickson, district commander for Ashfield, said: “Burglaries like this cause considerable upset and inconvenience for local businesses. That’s why we work so hard to track down suspects and get justice for victims. I am pleased we have now made another arrest in this case.”
