Man arrested after stabbing in Mansfield

Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in Mansfield.

Officers were called to Kitchener Drive at around 5.40pm on Sunday after a 30-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the neck.

A 20-year-old man was detained this morning on suspicion of attempted murder when police raided a property in Coppice Road, Arnold. Another property in Pippin Close, St Anns, was raided simultaneously.

The victim of the attack suffered a stab wound to the neck but has since been discharged from hospital.

Detective Inspector Kim Binns, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a very serious assault and I am pleased to say we were able to make this arrest this morning.

DI Binns added: However this is still an ongoing investigation and we are still working to piece together all the evidence in this case.

“For this reason we’re keen to speak to anyone who hasn’t yet come forward and who might have information which could help us with our investigation, including any dashcam footage.”

Officers are particularly keen to trace this black Renault Megane spotted in the area at the time of the attack.

The vehicle, registration MK56 LWW, is distinctive because of the temporary run flat rear tyre on its rear offside.
