Police have arrested four boys after an incident involving a machete in Sutton Lawn Park.

Officers received a report that youths who were wearing bandanas were chasing each other in the park at around 6.50pm on Thursday.

A machete was also said to have been seen.

Officers attended and arrested four boys, aged 14, 14, 16 and 16, on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and public order offences.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We take all reports of knife crime seriously and having received a report from a member of the public, officers were quickly at the scene and had made the arrests within minutes.

“We continue to make enquiries and are appealing to anyone who saw what happened or who saw anything suspicious to contact us on 101,” he added.
