Boy arrested after teens injured in ‘glassing’ in Sutton park

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy after two teenagers were injured in a suspected glassing in Sutton.

Officers received a report about a group of people fighting at Sutton Lawn Park at around 9.35pm on Saturday.

An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were taken to King's Mill Hospital for treatment to cuts thought to have been caused by glass.

Their injuries are not life-threatening or life-altering.

A 16-year-old boy, who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Nikki Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are investigating the circumstances around what appears to be an unprovoked attack on one group of youths by another.

“Officers will be in the area on Sunday to conduct further enquiries and provide reassurance.

“Violence involving weapons will not be tolerated and we are determined to establish the circumstances of this incident.”
