Man jailed after Mansfield incident

Officers attended a house in Mansfield on October 18 after receiving a report of a disturbance.
Police arrested 45-year-old Jason Smith on suspicion of criminal damage in Lindley Street.

Hide AdWhile he was in custody he was searched and found to be in possession of a bladed article and an offensive weapon, which he was further arrested for.
Smith, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article and criminal damage after appearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on October 20.
He was jailed for a total of 146 days.
Police Sergeant Carl Holland said: “Nottinghamshire Police takes knife crime very seriously and we will thoroughly investigate any incident reported to the force.
