Mansfield Town Centre is eerily quiet

Take a look at an eerily quiet Mansfield town centre in lockdown

After the Prime Minister announced a third national lockdown on Monday evening, we headed into Mansfield town centre to see if residents were respecting the new rules.

Mansfield was well-known over the years for being a bustling market town, but as the third lockdown was announced this week, we found an eerily quiet town centre with very few shoppers.

There has been much talk of people breaking the rules and ignoring restrictions, however it would seem, for now at least, people of the town are respecting the new rules enforced by the government.

Mansfield’s marketplace is usually busy with shoppers and teenagers, but today it was empty.

Many business owners will be eagerly awaiting the end of the pandemic so they can begin rebuilding their businesses – with these pictures, it’s easy to see why.
