More than 230 Nottinghamshire people have now died from the coronavirus - latest NHS figures have revealed

There have now been a total of 66 recorded deaths at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust – which runs King’s Mill Hospital, in Sutton, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital – according to figures released by NHS England.
Two more people died on Monday, April 13, following three other deaths over the Easter Weekend, although there have been no more reported deaths at the trust since the Bank Holiday Monday, as of 3pm on Thursday, April 16.

Hide AdRevised figures show that the trust’s worst period was between March 29 and April 8, when 43 of the deaths occurred.
Elsewhere around the county, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, which covers Worksop, have recorded 48 deaths from coronavirus to date, while at Nottingham University Hospitals, which runs the Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital, a total of 120 deaths from Covid-19 have been reported.
Meanwhile, four deaths have been reported at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs secure units in the county, including Rampton Hospital – totalling 233 around the county.
Nationally there have now been 103,093 recorded cases, with 13,729, according to latest figures.

Hide AdThe news comes after chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty warned of a spike in deaths today due to a probable lag in reporting over Easter weekend, following four consecutive days of sub-800 increases.
