The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire has risen by a third in a single day.

There are now 60 confirmed cases in Nottinghamshire, according to the latest regional breakdown published by Public Health England on Sunday evening – up from 45 on Saturday.

Across the UK, there have now been 5,683 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 281 deaths. So far, 135 people have recovered.

London has seen easily the most cases in the UK, with the 91 confirmed in Birmingham the most outside the south east. There have been 82 confirmed cases in Sheffield, 75 in Derbyshire and 34 in Nottingham.

There have now been 4,792 confirmed cases in England, 416 in Scotland, 347 in Wales and 128 in Northern Ireland.

The youngest person to have died is believed to have been an 18-year-old, who had underlying health conditions.

Hampshire has the most confirmed cases of anywhere in the country, with 156.
