Public Health England figures show that 55,475 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (April 26), up from 55,409 the same time on Friday.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 5,837 over the period, to 4,406,946.

Hide AdNottinghamshire s cases were among the 328,242 recorded across the East Midlands, a figure which rose by 446 over the period.


The rolling seven-day infection rate in Mansfield stands at 37.5 cases per 100,000 people, which is a weekly fall of 43.8 per cent but still above the England average of 24.8 and the county figure of 23.9.
Elsewhere in Nottinghamshire, Ashfield’s rate is 15.6, Bassetlaw 46.0 and now the highest in the county after a 20 per cent rise in cases, Newark & Sherwood 27.8 – an increase of 54.5 per cent – Gedling 16.1, Nottingham City 26.1 and Broxtowe 12.3.
