Get digging at Gulliver’s

If your kids dig diggers, then Gulliver’s Kingdom at Matlock Bath is the place to be for JCBs.

The family theme park’s newest attraction is a JCB Zone, celebrating the iconic big yellow diggers and giving little builders a chance to get to grips with the controls of a real JCB.

It was officially opened by five-year-old JCB fan Jacob Mardell, who won a competition on Facebook for the honour of cutting the ribbon.

Developed in conjunction with JCB, Gulliver’s first JCB Zone is already proving a big hit with young visitors.

The new attraction includes three working JCB mini excavators giving visitors young and old alike the chance to dig in special pits by operating the hydraulic digger arm and bucket, just like a construction worker.

There are also hand-operated mechanical diggers and a ‘rubble zone’ ball pit.

Gulliver’s managing director Julie Dalton said: “Our young visitors are loving the JCB Zone, especially the chance to be in the driving seat of a real working mini digger. It’s a great new hands-on attraction and we’re already planning to install more JCB Zones at our other two theme parks at Warrington and Milton Keynes.”
