Civic service for ukulele youth

THE Ukelele Project – playing Barnsley Civic tomorrow – are described as a “smaller (and sexier) version” of The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain, who sold out the same venue three weeks before.

Comprising 18-year-olds Oli Peacock, Marcus Rice and Pete Wright, the trio’s new versions of tunes ranging from Radiohead’s No Surprises and Blur’s Country House to Kung Fu Fighting and a bit of Simon & Garfunkel have already sold them out an Edinburgh Festival run. This is part of their first UK tour.
