Harriers' teenager takes Robin Hood Half-Marathon by storm

A stunning run by 17-year-old Dylan George spearheaded Mansfield Harriers' challenge at the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half-Marathon in Nottingham at the weekend.

Months of hard work paid off for George, who recorded a terrific time of one hour, 18.07 minutes to finish a superb 23rd among the thousands of competitors.

Close behind in 47th was Neil Cope in 1.21.49, which was a personal-best (PB) by more than seven minutes, while Gary Morley made a welcome return to competition to finish 138th in 1.27.50.

Only two weeks after his epic 100-mile race, Matthew Bradbury showed remarkable powers of recovery to run close to his best time in 1.32.49 to finish 311th, while recent recruit Rob Lacey placed 826th in 1.40.33.

A total of 17 Harriers tackled the 38th edition of the race, with five others clocking under two hours.
