Highly-rated Notts County Academy graduate Kyle Dixon has signed a new one-year deal with the club and has been told he will be playing in a new position from next season.

Dixon, who captained the Notts County youth team that reached the final of the Midland Youth Cup in the 2012/13 season, turned professional last summer after signing an initial six-month deal before earning an extension until the end of the campaign.

Having impressed manager Shaun Derry with his attitude and development, the 19-year-old has now been given a further one-year deal but has also been told that he will be operating predominantly as a right-back in the forthcoming campaign.

Derry announced at the Notts County Official Supporters’ Association Young Player of the Year Awards evening that he saw Dixon as a full-back moving forwards, competing with Mustapha Dumbuya for the right-back slot in the first team.
