The A617 has reopened after lorry carrying a digger hit a bridge

A lorry carrying a digger on the A617 crashed into a bridge which caused the digger to block the road.

The crash happened at around 10.30am this morning (Wednesday, December 21) and the A617 between Chesterfield and the M1 was reopened at 3.30pm.

The incident has now been cleared and traffic conditions are expected to return to normal shortly.
