Scandals of Sherwood Forest were highlighted at the latest meeting of Mansfield Woodhouse Probus Club.

Members were welcomed to the meeting, at The Hostess restaurant, near Spion Kop, by the president who highlighted the activities that had taken place during 2022, particularly the two ladies’ days, the successful quiz night and the visit by members of other Probus Clubs.

Minutes of the November meeting were presented and approved followed by reports from the treasurer, Attendance officer and almoner.

Members were reminded of the proposed visit to Denby Pottery on April 25.

The president then introduced speaker Adrian Gray, who gave an illustrated talk on The Scandals of Sherwood Forest.

This excellent talk highlighted the many historical scandals that took place within the many stately homes within the area during the 18th and 19th Century.

The President gave the vote of thanks for a most entertaining talk before members enjoyed a first-class lunch.

The next meeting of the club is on Thursday, February 2, with a talk by John Hope, entitled If at first you don't succeed.
