Park café is offered up by the council

A park café premises in Mansfield is being offered up for rent by the council.

The pavilion at Titchfield Park is being made available to rent on a negotiable three-year licence as a restaurant, café or snack bar.

It has a large function room, kitchen, storage, cloakroom and small grassed area for outdoor seating.

There is also a covered veranda overlooking the recently installed multi-use games area and the Water Meadows Fitness Complex.

Coun Andrew Tristram, environment chief at Mansfield District Council, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for a business to benefit from being located in this prime spot in one of our award-winning parks.

“It will be a fantastic spot for people living and working nearby to grab a drink or bite to eat.”

Plans to open the café were close to being agreed last year and which involved former mayoral candidate and district councillor, Phil Shields, however, the deal was never completed.

As part of any deal, there are toilets on site, which must be open to the public, free of charge, during opening times which would be between 7:30am and 6pm.

The pavilion was fully refurbished in 2002 and the council says the pavilion is in an excellent state of repair and decoration.

Work may be required for its use as a food retail premises, so a negotiable rent-free period may be available to cover the cost of any essential work.
