DRINKS maker A.G. Barr has announced it is to close its Mansfield site in early 2011.
The Scottish firm says it has taken the decision - which will affect 100 workers at the Bellamy Road plant - so it can invest at its Cumbernauld site to boost capacity.
The company, best known for its Irn Bru drink, said it planned to invest 8m to 10m over the next 12 months at the Cumbernauld site.
Talks are now underway with employees at Mansfield about the closure plans.
"This proposal would mean ceasing our current inhouse storage and distribution operations at the Mansfield site," Barr said in a statement.
