The new education garden at the Bishop’s Palace in Southwell is taking shape - but more green-fingered volunteers are needed to help complete the project.

It is part of the work to renovate the complex itself, which has considerable heritage significance as it was used by most early Kings of England and, later, by Cardinal Wolsey and then by Charles I.

The next open day on Saturday looks set to be another triumph of the trowels and project co-ordinator, Charlie Leggatt said: “We need volunteers to help us bring the vision for the garden to fruition and, then, to help with the maintenance.
