A vet attended the scene and sedated the horse while fire crews set about the rescue operation using ropes and hoists. Firefighters from Ashfield and Mansfield were called to a grass fire yesterday (Saturday, May 19).
They attended the scene just off the A617 near Sutton at around 6.45pm.
